Why You Have To Make Decisions When Your Teen Is Using Substances

There is no perfect decision.

Decide ahead of time, that no matter what decision you make it is the right decision.

Your teen’s substance abuse requires you to make many decisions.

Where do you get help?

Which doctor, lawyer, counselor, psychiatrist, psychologist, in patient treatment center, out patient treatment center, nutritionist, medication assisted treatment, detox, discipline, or boundaries do you choose?

The decisions are endless.

Chances are, a number of these decisions must be made multiple times.

Indecision is a decision not to decide and creates more burdens than you are already facing.

The prospect of one right decision and one wrong decision is enough to leave you paralyzed with fear.

Take a deep breath, do some research, call on your belief system, and make the best decision you can in that moment.

If it doesn’t work out like you planned, it doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision.

It means it’s time to move on to the next decision.

Trust yourself.

You know what is best for you, your teen, and your family.
